The fertilizer schedule that we use ourselves
Our fertilization schedule at Bonsai Plaza is tailored to the needs of individual trees, and can vary depending on the specific circumstances, but in broad terms it goes as follows. In the spring we start quite early with fish emulsion and algae. As soon as the temperature rises above 15 degrees, the fermentation process begins and we add abrakas to the schedule until approximately September, when the Dutch season ends. We will be introducing Bio-Green from April. We also use PK fertilizer from September or October, but if there is a lot of rain, we apply it even earlier in the year. HB-101, a vitamin preparation, ensures that our trees remain vital all year round and absorb fertilizers more efficiently. We use this supplement from April to September. When repotting we add Mineral mix and Culture for the vitality of the tree and a healthy soil balance.
Our favorite wound care
At Bonsai Plaza we use Pine cut paste for wound care for all our pinus trees. If we want to quickly seal a smooth wound on a deciduous tree or stop or prevent bleeding, we choose liquid kiyonal ace. This also prevents scar tissue on the tree. For all deciduous trees and conifers we use the traditional cut paste with the recognizable green and white lid. The white variant is suitable for deciduous trees with a light bark, while the green version is suitable for almost all tree types. For (old) holes deeper than one centimeter we use two-component filler. After repotting, we place spagnum on the pot to keep the roots moist.
